Junior Olympics & Arctic Winter Games

Arctic Winter Games Coaches Charlie Renfro and Dave Blanchet will be at the Besh Cup Races #5 and 6 in Fairbanks. Skiers who qualify for Team Alaska at these Besh Cup races should plan on meeting with Charlie and Dave Sunday at Birch Hill immediately after the races and results. Charlie and Dave will be: - Taking pictures of all AWG qualifiers for the Team Registration packet.
- Collecting any completed Registration Packets for AWG participants, and giving them to John Estle in Fairbanks. Registration forms are available online at: http://awg.teamalaska.org/pdfs_forms/team_member_registration_form.pdf One part of the form, the “Trans-Border Travel Authorization” requires notarization of parents signatures for skiers under age 18.
- Collecting “Team Alaska” checks from AWG qualifiers for $600 made out to “Arctic Winter Games Team Alaska”. This covers transportation, food and lodging, and Team Alaska coats. Check will be given to John Estle in Fairbanks.
- Collecting checks to CCAK for $115 (for wax, coach travel costs, & misc. expenses.)
- Confirming that you have a current Passport or IMMEADIATE plans to obtain one (see related article).
- Providing sample “Team Alaska” racing suits to test out for sizes. Suits will cost $155, matching jackets $130, and vests $85. Suits and jackets can be viewed in the attached document. Suit pieces may be ordered in Fairbanks. Checks should be made out to NSAA (Nordic Ski Assn. of Anchorage). Suit pieces will not be ordered if a check does not accompany the order.
